Official information request regarding publication of test statistics 
 
I refer to your request for information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) 
dated 13 March 2025: 
 
“Could you please explain the issue regarding the release of test marks? Why does 
the university not publish the median, average, and quartile scores for each test, 
as the University of Auckland and other universities do?” 
 
The University does not hold any information regarding “the issue regarding the release 
of test marks”. Therefore your request is refused in accordance with s18(e) of the Act as 
the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist. 
 
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of the 
decisions made regarding this request. Information about how to make a complaint is
