Thank you for your email of 25 March 2025 to the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment
(MBIE) requesting, under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:
How many complaints are currently before the Building Practitioner Board?
For completed complaints, what is the average period of time taken for a decision to be reached
by the Building Practitioner Board? Limit this to the last two years.
As of 31 March 2025, there are currently 101 complaints before the Building Practitioner Board.
The average time taken by the Building Practitioner Board to reach a decision is published annually as
part of the Building Practitioners Board Annual Report. You can find the reports online at
https://www.lbp.govt.nz/about-us/our-board/annual-reports/. MBIE is therefore refusing your request
under section 18(d) of the Act, as the information requested is publicly available.
Please note that this response, with your personal details removed, may be published on the MBIE
