Re: Your Information Request
I am writing in response to your 7 April 2025 request under the Official Information Act 1982 where you have
requested the fol owing information:
Do you know what HAARP (High-frequency Active Auroral Research Program), Harmonic Response
Manipulators and Scalar Technologies are?
If so, can you please explain what they are?
Can these technologies be used to create an earthquake?
If so, have they been used in New Zealand before? And by whom if you know?
If so, wil they be used again, soon, say this year (2025)?
If so, can you please explain what your definition of treason, genocide and widespread destruction is?
It is believed and proven with evidence that the Christchurch earthquake in 2011 was planned and orchestrated.
Is GNS involved in creating earthquakes or just researching them?
Why are you a limited company with 7 directors? (3 of which became directors within the last 2 years). What is
your average annual funding?

The Institute of Geological and Nuclear Sciences Limited (GNS Science) has no knowledge of High-frequency
Active Auroral Research Program (HAARP) or Harmonic Response Manipulators and Scalar Technologies and,
on that basis, we are unable to respond to your questions specifical y related to the HAARP or the relevant
technologies.
However, we do not believe these technologies can be used to create an earthquake. Earthquakes are
caused by the collision of tectonic plates which is a natural geological process. New Zealand straddles the
Pacific and Australian tectonic plates. These plates are colliding with huge force, causing one to slowly grind
over, under or alongside the other. As the brittle crust gives way under the pressure, a fault ruptures which is
what causes an earthquake. Every year, GNS Science records over 20,000 earthquakes in New Zealand.
The Christchurch earthquake in 2011 was not planned and orchestrated. The Christchurch earthquake was
caused by the movement of the Pacific and Australian tectonic plates.
The team at GNS Science contributes to a variety of research efforts to understand earthquakes and the
associated hazards and risks they pose to New Zealand.

As a Crown Research Institute (CRI), GNS Science is a Crown entity company under the Crown Entities Act 2004
and as a limited liability company is subject Companies Act 1993. The Companies Act requires a company’s
affairs to be managed under the direction of one or more directors. GNS Science has seven directors. Multiple
directors allow for the bringing together of a wider range of skills and perspectives, leading to more
informed and
comprehensive decision-making.
CRIs were established as limited liability companies with the view they would also operate as commercial entities
as well as undertaking research.
GNS Science’s average annual Government funding for research over the past 5 years has been approximately
$68 mil ion.
