Re: Official Information Act Request WCDHB 9240a – Gender Reassignment Surgery Providers 
 
We  refer  to  your  email  dated  14  October  2015  requesting  the  following  information  under  the 
Official Information Act (1982) 
 
(In  response  to  the  information  released  by  the  Ministry  of  Health  detailing  that  SRS  provider 
selection  will  be  determined  by  District  Health  Boards  and  their  specialist),  I  request  any 
information  held  by  this  DHB  on  prospective  Male-to-Female  sexual  reassignment  surgery 
providers.    My  request  is  for  information  including  but  not  limited  to  correspondence  with 
prospective providers, assessments of providers or correspondence with other DHBs or specialists. 
 
West Coast DHB does not directly provide gender reassignment surgery.  Any such cases would be 
referred to one of the DHB tertiary providers.  
 
The West Coast DHB holds no record of any correspondence with, or made any assessments of, 
potential providers in respect of male to female reassignment surgery.
