Thank you for contacting Auckland Transport on 2 January regarding the Manukau Bus
Interchange.
I have noticed through Auckland Transport website that the enabling works due to start late
December, 2015 or early January, 2016 (according to the Tender documents) have been delayed to
the following situation:
Final concept designs released: end of January
Enabling works: February -
April
Main works: May until completion August 2017 (indicative per Auckland Transport in November
when the concept drawings came out for public submission)

Are those above dates different to any initial dates for the Manukau Interchange construction
time line as of at the end of November, 2015 when the public submissions on the Interchange
closed?
These dates have not changed since public consultation was carried out in November, when
the following dates were included in the consultation material.
Enabling works - The enabling works date of Feb - Apr 2016.
Main Works - Commencement of construction Aug 2016. Completion due August 2017

If the dates have changed what has caused this recent set of delays?
There have been delays from the initial construction dates. These are associated with;
Confirmation of the functional brief/requirements for the bus station required as part of the
consultant firming up design criteria.
Completion of concept design due to refinements required to ensure that the consultant
provided an acceptable design of a functional station.

What changes are being done to the concept designs that were released to the public in
November and why please?
