Thank you for contacting Auckland Transport on 03 June 2016 requesting the following information:
'The proposed upgrade to the Mt Eden Road bus lanes is scheduled on your website for 2015/2016. There
has been no regional consultation on the project and no press release from council. I note that the end of
the 2015/16tax year in 31 days away. I am therefore requesting all interactions with consultants and within
Auckland Transport relating to the proposal.'
Auckland Transport can confirm that the webpage you have referred to contains incorrect information - this has
now been removed.
Following notification of the incorrect information you had refined your request. A response to your
request for information is as follows:
a) If any options have been or are currently being assessed to implement bus priority measures .
Yes, there are short term options being assessed for implementation.
b) If these options have been or are being assessed, what are they (please provide any
relevant drawings also).
The short term proposed bus lanes are between:

Oaklands road to Stokes Road (southbound pm peak)
•
Graham Breed Drive and Roskill Way {northbound am peak) and (southbound pm peak)
•
Extending operational hours on all existing bus lanes and proposed bus lanes from 7.00am to 1 O.OOam in
the morning peak and 4.00pm to 7.00pm in the evening peak, as endorsed by AT board
Auckland Transport will be following the process of internal sign off before going to external consultation.

a) If a preferred option has been selected, which is it, and what is the justification for preferring that option.
The justification of the implementation of bus lanes is to reduce travel time and improve the reliability of bus
services. Please see the below table for further information:

Bus Lane
Install 3.2m wide northbound and southbound bus Bus passenger time saving and
lanes from Graham Breed Drive to Roskill Way. The improve reliability. New bus lane
northbound bus lane should operate during the operating hours requirements

southbound bus lane operates during the evening peak
between 4.00pm to 7.00pm, Monday to Friday

b) If the preferred option given by the relevant consultants is not to be advanced by AT, what justification
does AT give for not advancing that option.
All short term proposals provided by consultants have been considered.
Long term proposals are not currently being pursued due to a high investment requirement. These proposals will
be further investigated.
We trust the information has addressed the matters raised however, should you believe that we have not
responded appropriately to your request, you have the right in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA to
make a complaint to the Office of the Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review in regard to this matter.
