Request for Information
I refer to your application requesting information in relation to:
‘Timaru police have seized over 800 plants and 2kg of harvested cannabis head following a search of a
property on King Street, Temuka on Wednesday."
Please provide the search warrant and evidence sheet generated from this raid.’
I have considered your request in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982
and the Privacy Act 1993.
You are not mentioned on the file as an owner or occupier of the building searched.
The investigation is ongoing. Your request is declined pursuant to the following
section:
• Section 9(2)(a) Official Information Act 1982 - The disclosure of the
information would involve the unwarranted disclosure of the affairs of another
individual or of a deceased individual.
• Section 6(c) Official Information Act 1982 – The release would be likely to
prejudice the maintenance of law, including the prevention, investigation and
detection of offences, and the right to a fair trial.
If you are not satisfied with my response to your request you have the right to
complain to the Office of the Ombudsman and seek an investigation and review of
my decision.
