Dear Tisian
Request made under the Official Information Act 1982
Thank you for your email
of 27 February and your follow-up email of 28 February 2017 requesting the
following information under the Official Information Act 1982 (the OIA):
•
CCTV Camera footage of an incident between a white Ford Falcon and a dark blue Commodore
on 25 February 2017 between 5:20 and 5:30pm at the corner of Grahams Rd & Great South
Rd, Takanini and any other footage of the dark blue Commodore along Great South Road at
the same time.
You have requested CCTV footage from two cameras. With respect to the first camera, the New Zealand
Transport Agency does not hold the information you request as footage is not retained.
The only CCTV footage the Transport Agency has is from the second camera located at the corner of
Mahia and Great South Roads. However, the camera was facing in a different direction - footage from
this camera was pointing down Mahia Road and not along Great South Road.
I am therefore refusing your request under section 18(e) of the OIA as the CCTV footage “…does not
exist…”
Under section 28 of the OIA, you have the right to apply to an Ombudsman for an investigation and
review of this decision to refuse your request. The email address i
s www.ombudsman.parliament.nz/. If you would like to discuss this reply with the Transport Agency, please contact David Murphy
Operations Training Manager, by email to [email address] or by phone on 09 927 9700.
Yours sincerely
Brett Gliddon
Highway Manager Auckland & Northland
