Dear Steven
Official Information Request - Trucks that would be training at Region 1 Facility / Mt
Wellington Station (23) each week for the next 6 - 12 months
I refer to your official information request which was received on 18 April 2017. In
accordance with the provisions of the Official Information Act 1982 please find below a
response to the information you requested.
Training at the Region 1 Mt Wellington Training Centre has 2 Scania training appliances,
which are currently in operational use at Manurewa and Remuera stations.
Two other appliances are on loan, although not allocated to training. These appliances are
a 1991 Iveco type 2 and a 1985 Mitsubishi type 3 that is not road legal, but used for pump
training.
I am not able to advise what operational appliances will be at Mt Wellington or when, as
there are too many variables for advice on this ahead of time. For example, an appliance
may be scheduled to be used for Training but may be called away to a fire call. In addition
to dedicated Training appliances, training is dependent on appliances available from
operations relief.
Shaun Thornton, the Region 1 Training Coordinator, is happy to discuss any further
information required by phone 09 570 604 or email [email address].
Yours sincerely,
Leigh Deuchars
