Re: Valerie Adams ceremony 
 
I refer to your email dated 22 October 2012, which we received on 23 October 2012, requesting 
information about the Olympic medal ceremony for Valerie Adams held at The Cloud on 12 
September 2012. 
 
This event was privately arranged and paid for by ANZ Bank.  The only information Auckland Council 
holds in regards to this event relates to hiring out the venue on a commercial basis.  As such, this 
information is withheld under section 7(2)(b)(ii) of the LGOIMA, as releasing the information “would 
be likely unreasonably to prejudice the commercial position of the person who supplied or who is the 
subject of the information”. 
 
You have the right in accordance with section 27(3) of the LGOIMA to make a complaint to the Office 
of the Ombudsmen regarding Auckland Council’s refusal to release any information under this letter.
