Thank you for your Official Information Act request to Waikato District Health Board 
(“Waikato DHB”), received 3 October 2017; requesting further information in relation 
to patient privacy breach response we provided. 
 
 
•  Of the three employees who had their employment terminated with 
WDHB, how many patients for each staff member were they accused of 
accessing illegitimately and was it ascertained that for some or all of the 
illegitimate access instances that the staff member were somehow 
connected (friend, family, colleague etc) with the patient?  
 
Of the three: 
 
1. Accessed the records of one individual known to them  
2. Accessed the records of one individual known to them  
3. Accessed the records of a number of individuals not known to them
