Purpose

This document provides for:
the safe and effective management of incidents involving aircraft.
Act
Requirements for Aircraft Incidents
Executive Officers’ responsibilities
Chief Fire Officers wil issue a procedure for dealing with incidents involving aircraft.
Fire Region Managers wil ensure that every Fire District in the Fire Region has a procedure in
accordance with this instruction.
Local procedures
Information
When applicable, local procedures wil take into account:
the response to incidents at airports/airfields:
- local standby
- full emergency
- non-fire emergencies
Official
- crash on the airfield
- crash off the airfield the
- crash into water
automatic upgrade to greater alarm
water supplies
military aircraft
liaison with rescue fire services, ground safety authorities and other support services
under
terminology consistent with that used by other agencies.

minimising, using one or more of the control methods in the following table:
