Subject:
2018 Compulsory Student Services Fees
______________________________________________
The 2018 Compulsory Student Services Fee (CSSF) is proposed to be $798 inclusive of GST,
or $59 (8.0%) more than 2017. This increase principally arises from new initiatives to
support sexual health and wellbeing and mental health services.
In 2017 the budgeted number of full fee paying students was 16,056. For 2018 the number of
students paying the equivalent full CSSF is estimated at 15,910. The fee will now be charged
by semester and so students studying one semester only will pay half the fee.

The University’s provider – Otago University Childcare Association – receives a
subsidy from the University each year to compensate it for allowing its student

of the childcare facilities.
