I refer to your email, which we received on 08 October 2018, requesting information about
Resource Consent applications for Bomb Point Hobsonvil e
Has any resource consent been applied for or granted, for any earthworks, contouring
or potential subdivision work at Bomb Point Hobsonville?
4 resource consents have been granted at Bomb Point Hobsonvil e for earthworks,
contouring and subdivision work
1. SUB60067112 / LUC60306008 (BUN60306007)
The following resource consent was granted to subdivide the esplanade reserve and Harriet
Point subdivision area from the Bomb Point legal titles along with contamination discharge
consent to deal with the asbestos and other contaminants left within the Bomb Point area
from the previous military use and the munition and associated structures.
On 27 April 2018, resource consent was granted on a non-notified basis to subdivide Bomb
Point into five lots to be undertaken in two stages. Stage One involves the creation of four
lots as follows:

On 2 July 2018 resource consent was granted on a non-notified basis to subdivide the two
sites, being 261 Hobsonville Point Road (PT LOT 2 DP 330629, LOT 3 DP 211237, LOT 3
DP 511649, LOT 5 DP 511649, LOT 3 DP 463057) and 54 Rangihina Road (LOT 1003 DP
506082) into 6 lots.
The subdivision is to be undertaken in two stages. Stage 1 involves the subdivision of 261
Hobsonville Point Road as follows:

There used to be a landfil located in the southern portion of the site. This consent approved
the remediation of the landfil which has now been completed.
4. LUC-2014-2147 / REG-2014-2148 / REG-2015-620
This consent approved the construction of the coastal walkway around the periphery of
Hobsonvil e Point, some of which falls within the subject site.
The Waitangi Tribunal has also granted that Te Kawerau a Maki received the parcel of land
being SEC 1 SO 476963 within Bomb Point as part of their Treaty Set lement within the
Bomb Point area. Council has not received any resource consent applications for this legal
parcel.

Has any resource consent been applied for or granted for any alteration or removal of
the historic munitions storage buildings (or any other form of built structures) at
Bomb Point Hobsonvil e?
As above, SUB60067112 / LUC60306008 (BUN60306007) has granted been granted the
removal of asbestos and other contaminants left within the Bomb Point area from the
previous military use and the munition and associated structures.
None of the resource consents sought removal of any historic structures.
Has HLC Ltd disclosed to Auckland Council what its valuation of the land at Bomb
Point is?
No current valuation of Bomb Point has been disclosed to Auckland Council by HLC
.
Should you believe Auckland Council has not responded appropriately to your request, you
have the right by way of complaint, under section 27(3) of the LGOIMA, to apply to the
Ombudsman to seek an investigation and review of the decision.
