Thank you for your request of Sunday 7th October. Your request has been considered under the
Official Information Act 1982 and we have addressed each question in turn below:
1. How much has WorkSafe paid both consulting and law firms in the last 18 months to
facilitate restructures and change programmes?
WorkSafe facilitates all work regarding restructures and change programmes internally. WorkSafe
engages external consulting and legal firms to perform reviews, provide insights and guidance.
WorkSafe has spent a total of $236,417 excluding GST, in relation to three change initiatives, with
consulting and legal firms during the period from 1 March 2017 to 30 September 2018.
2. What is the purpose of the role 'Director Strategic Engagement and Implementation' and
what are its outputs.
The Director, Engagement and Implementation is a leadership position in the Strategy and
Performance Group.
The Director, Engagement and Implementation is responsible for providing up-to-date sector
reporting, proportionate and effective communication and engagement for every sector, and
intervention detailed design and delivery services.
The Director, Engagement and Implementation is responsible for building and enhancing the
overall capability of the Engagement and Implementation team to deliver detailed design for
funded health and safety intervention programmes, intervention management and funding
services, and business as usual sector engagement.
This is a start-up role that requires development of new processes and procedures, recruitment
and development of team members, establishment of work programmes and expectations within a
new operating model for harm prevention interventions.
Internally, the Director, Engagement and Implementation works directly to provide the Chief
Executive and other members of the Senior Leadership Team with understanding, planning for and
engaging with sector leadership groups.
Externally the Director, Engagement and Implementation represents WorkSafe to sector leadership
groups and individuals, presents at external forums and events, conducts media interviews and
provides leadership endorsement to the Engagement Leads in their routine sector engagement
delivery.

How much has WorkSafe paid Martin Jenkins in the last 18 months?
WorkSafe has engaged Martin Jenkins for a range of services during the period from 1 March 2017
to 30 September 2018. WorkSafe has paid Martin Jenkins $280,645 excluding GST during this
period.
