2.1 DC Naila Hassan welcomed the Board.

2.3 Baljit Singh also expressed her appreciation to the Police

communities. She offered to disseminate good job done by
Police on her Community post.
2.4 DC Hassan responded to the Ethnic Advisory Board

members for this heartfelt acknowledgement and the
concerns raised.
3 Performance Brief
3.1 DC Hassan went through a statistic figures on Victimisation DC Hassan
data for African, Asian, Middle Eastern, Indian and
Latin/Hispanic, MELAA in Waitemata District.
3.2 DC Hassan gave a comprehensive rundown of the each

3.3 DC Hassan advised that Police recruitment is over the

4 Update from the 3 Waitemata Areas
4.1 NZ Police have created 20 positions for ethnic communities DC Hassan

in Tamaki Makarau- 2 in Waitemata District, 4 in Counties
District and 1 in Auckland Central District.
4.2 Family Violence reporting has increased by 9%.

4.4 DC Hassan explained about MPES structure. There wil be

a job opportunity for a Senior Sergeant position in Ethnic
Services Team in a few months.

5 Ethnic Advisory Board members
5.1 Venkat expressed his concern of hate speech toward the

5.2 Susan suggested making Victim Support known to the

5.3 Baljit said that there is only one African Constable in New

communities.
5.4 DC Hassan mentioned a refresh of the EAB, members

EAB members should be selected to align with what we as
a board agree we need to achieve for our communities.
5.5 Older generation in ethnic communities have gained more

5.8 Since the introduction of Whangaia, CNSST started

evidence. She said she would follow up with this case.
5.10 Naveen expressed his concern about multiple cameras

5.11 Baljit said there are homeless people in Ranui sniffing glue

preventative actions were taken such as instal ing lights
however, they were unsuccessful.
5.12 Naveen said that there are still issues with children

controlling their parent’s bank account and parents are not
taking any action.
