After the opening prayer Insp PATEL opened the forum by putting in the apologies and went through the previous minutes.
Det KAI FONG talked about her own journey of joining NZ Police. Much discussions from everyone. Det KAI FONG is going to be on 9 months paid leave to
study Mandarin in Guilin, China next year.
DC Supt PENNY touched on bringing the District Leadership Team back to Henderson station. Provide more visibility and forming crime squad from 1/3/18. 55%
of the jobs in the District come from Waitakere, with serious crime of over 60% from Waitakere. Also, is having discussion with Michael ALOFA (Auckland
Council) of moving MPES to Council building around Henderson CBD with the community group and wardens.
Susan ZHU mentioned New Lynn is expanding and is expecting 5000-7000 more people in a few years. Would require more Police presence too.
DC explained about Whangaia Nga Pa Harekeke. Family Harm attributes to 50% of policing work. Decided to change the name to family harm with view of
holistic approach and focus more than just family violence. Stakeholders will meet on daily basis to provide support and various groups will take part in this project.
They will operate from Henderson station. Anticipate more reporting and more harm reduction.
Insp PATEL said the GN venue has been confirmed and is going ahead using the Te Atatu Community Constable office. Const KAUR and D/Sgt Karen HOSHEK
will deliver the staff training. Need to consult with the Te Atatu MP. Ranjna PATEL and Sucharita VARMA are fully supportive of this project and they are
working hard with the team to progress this swiftly.
TUWE mentioned in principle advisors should be paid travel expenses to compensate their commitment to the advisory board.

Pravin KUMAR talked about walkathon on 4/2/18 to raise money for St John Ambulance. Everyone is welcome.
Baljit SINGH highlighted Ethnic wardens could lease an office space at the Waitakere Community Resource Centre, 8 Ratanui St, Henderson.
Susan ZHU mentioned about Chinese New Year celebration in 2018 by Whau Local Board. Police can utilise the opportunity for recruitment promotion. Good way
to combat the negative perception of Police through We Chat app.
