1. Please provide me with the total number of welfare recipients per annum, as far back as records permit.
2. Please break this down by the type of benefit, e.g. superannuation, JSS, accommodation supplement. I understand that some benefits have been renamed or no longer exist, please provide data for those benefits as well, as far back as records permit.
3. Please break down the benefit type by ethnicity and gender, e.g. the total number of people on super, who are Pākehā and female, Pākehā and male, etc. etc.

This letter is to advise you that the Ministry has received your request,
however requires more time to respond to this request. In accordance with
section 15(1) and 15A of the Official Information Act, the Ministry’s
decision will be with you no later than 28 June 2019.
The reason for the extension is that consultations necessary to make a
decision on the request are such that a proper response to the request
cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.
