Dear Harrison
Thank you for your request via FYI.org on 10 September 2019. You requested
for the following information:
Could I please have all reports and 'Summary of Evidence' for all speedway
accidents and injuries.
The OIA requires we advise you of our decision on your request no later
than 20 working days after the day we received your request.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit and we are
therefore writing to notify you of an extension of the time to make our
decision, to 7 November 2019.
This extension is made under section 15A(1)(b) because consultations
necessary to make a decision on the request are such that a proper
response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the original time
limit.
As you may know, WorkSafe doesn’t proactively release investigation
reports on its website because they can include sensitive and personal
information that may be distressing to victims, whânau, and others.
Therefore, we ask that you please provide us with your personal email or
postal address so that we can send you the information directly.
You have the right to seek a review of this extension by the Ombudsman.
Information about how to make a complaint is available at
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or Freephone 0800 802 602.
If you wish to discuss any aspect of your request with us, including this
decision, please feel free to contact [1][WorkSafe New Zealand request email].
