I request the following information:
1. What is the position band of the Executive Officer of Regulatory Services?
2. Across Auckland Council, how many positions of this band or higher were filled in the 2019 calendar year?
3. Of those, what number/percentage were filled by direct appointment? (Direct appointment is defined as the selection of a specified individual without any other individuals having the ability to apply.)
4. What number/percentage were filled following internal advertising/interviews? (Internal advertising means within Auckland Council and its CCOs)
5. What number/percentage were filled following external advertising/interviews?
6. Is there any internal Council policy or procedure that specifies what being a "good employer" means in terms of advertising vacancies and/or length of advertising periods?

Further to our acknowledgement on 3 March 2020, we require more time to
respond to your request.
I’m sorry that we are unable to provide you the information today. We are
currently still collating and processing information for your request.
Therefore, Auckland Council is extending the time limit for responding to
your request under section 14 of the Local Government Official Information
and Meetings Act 1987 (LGOIMA). We will reply to your request by 22 May
2020. Please note this is a maximum response time and we will endeavour to
respond sooner.
Please note we are likely to experience further disruptions due to the
impact of Covid-19 and this means that the response time for this
information may take longer than usual.
The reasons for this extension are:
- The request is for a large quantity of information or necessitates a
search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original
time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operation of Auckland
Council.
- Consultations necessary to make a decision on the request are ongoing
and a proper response to the request cannot reasonably be made within the
original time limit.
Please note you have the right to request a review of this extension from
the Ombudsman.
