This request is made under the Official Information Act.
A PCR test only tests for the presence of genetic material in the body in the form of RNA and is used to diagnosing infection of SARS-CoV-2/2019-nCoV viruses.
However testing for the presence of a specific sequence of RNA is not evidence that genetic material is a microbe or virus.
What evidence does the Ministry/Government have that proves SARS-CoV-2/2019-nCoV even exists which meets the accepted standard requiring fulfillment of Koch’s postulates?

Thank you for your response, we find your answers to 1, 2, and 4 factual and satisfactory for our purposes.
With regard to question 3, we accept your statement of “There have been no scientists within New Zealand that have been able to establish that COVID-19 has met Koch’s postulates. This is because there are risks and lead in time for postulates three and four.”
However the remainder of the response is just a claim with NO evidence provided, regarding the following claims made;
1) “However, Koch’s postulates have been achieved globally to establish that the SARS-CoV-2 virus causes the diseases.”.
Would you please provide a link to a single medical paper supporting this claim?
2) “Animal studies (primate) show that inoculation of the virus into animals produces disease.”
Please provide a link to the paper for this study you have in mind?
3) “Epidemiological evidence shows that the pathogen spreads from person to person with close contact and that spread can be halted by physical distancing”.
A theoretical mathematical model is not evidence, we have already seen with the Imperial College study by Neil Ferguson https://www.imperial.ac.uk/media/imperia... turned out to be grossly wrong with its projections of death and ICU bed requirements. Such a shame the worlds governments acted on the projections of this paper alone to justify the lockdowns early this year. What test is that, please provides details and references?
We did enjoy the comment “Science has evolved since 1890 and we now have DNA studies that can now map the evolution of the pandemic from the source in China”. This opinion misses the point of the original question, that is DNA of a specific genome sequence is not evidence of that genome being being viral or a microbe or other genetic material of the body.
Furthermore the SARS pandemic of 2002-2004 forefilled Koch’s postulates https://www.nature.com/articles/423240a and a quick search on PubMed shows the majority of medical literature discussing Koch’s postulates has occurred in the past 20 years with peak being 2014. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=ko... Evolution does not disregard an invention or principle based on its age, we all enjoy driving cars using the prehistoric discovery of the wheel or Newton’s Laws.

The global studies referred to in the response don't exist. I’ve scoured the internet and found no proof that scientists have done the simple steps required to demonstrate that SARS-CoV-2 conclusively meets even one – never mind all — of the postulate’s constituent parts. SARS CoV-2 and Covid-19 are merely presumptions. Clear, unequivocal evidence is required to establish them as fact.
A few scientists have claimed isolation in the abstract but in proceedure it all falls apart, even on cursory examination.
What’s missing is even one reference to back up the assertions of a novel virus, in fact I put out a challenge to anyone: provide a valid peer reviewed empirical scientific study, confirming the identification, using either Koch’s postulates or River’s protocol, by isolation, visualisation and purification of ANY virus!!
