F. Greig made this Official Information request to Ministry of Health

The request was refused by Ministry of Health.

From: F. Greig

Specifically the battery capacity (in mAh), model numbers of any Bluetooth chips, microcontrollers, and SOCs (system-on-chip), and the maximum distance between a pair of CovidCard devices that will be recognised as a "contact event".

Tçnâ koe F. Grieg,

I apologise on behalf of the department for the slight delay in providing
you with a decision on your request, which was due to you by 23
September.

The topic of your request is one of significant public interest.
Consequently, the Government and the Department are preparing a wide
ranging release of related information including the independent reports
which were relied on by the Department to generate its advice. The
information that you requested will be contained in this proactive
release.  All of the documents still need to go through a stakeholder
review process prior to publication which means they are not yet able to
be proactive released. The timing of this proactive release is expected to
occur soon, but it is not yet possible to provide a specific date.

Please refer to the attached letter which provides the Department’s
decision in your request.

Ngâ mihi,

The Proactive Release (2 October 2020) did not contain many of the details requested by the requester, so I will follow-up to request the Hardware Specification document that I think includes these details.
