Dear Government Services,
With reference to Question 3
3/ Obligation of Case Manger to give notice to ACC that they are attending a Meeting or Medical Appointment of a Claimant
Your reply is published as
The service provider must have ACC’s approval to arrange a case conference. The case conference must
include all relevant treatment providers, and may include the client and involve family members, if
appropriate. After the case conference the service provider will send a report to ACC with any outcomes
or recommendations. The report is saved in the client’s electronic claim file.
The question has not been answered in the context Case Managers Obligations, the question was not in any way pertinent in asking a Service Providers Obligations
Yours sincerely,
Anthony Jordan

With reference to your Question 3/ Obligation of Case Manger to give
notice to ACC that they are attending a Meeting or Medical Appointment of
a Claimant
Our response
In our earlier response, we referred to case conferences as these are one
of the few times ACC staff might attend a face to face meeting about a
client.
It would be extremely rare for a case manager to attend a meeting about a
claim, that the client is not present at. Any such meeting would
generally only be between ACC staff. Most communication about a claim is
carried out by phone calls and emails, which are recorded on the client's
electronic claim file. Staff who meet together to consider a matter
related to a claim do not have to give prior notice to the client. Any
documents or reports from external or internal parties about client
related meetings are also in the client’s electronic claim file, under the
‘Documents’ tab
ACC Case Managers do not attend client's medical appointments.
