Dear Adam Jones,

Thanks for providing the information. Im a bit surprised that there are only 15 essential applications completed within 35 days. Generally it shouldnt take that long as there is no labour market test, skills match report and no advertising required by the employer for these applications since they are awaiting SMC decision. Since the resumption of visa processing post Covid-19 from May 2020 onwards, essential skills application belonging to the above category have been completing in less than 10 days for some people.

Can you confirm if the timelines which have been provided below relate to those essential applications who have no labour market test, skills match report and no advertising required by the employer and they are onshore applications.

If yes, Could you also provide monthly breakup of these applications since Jan 2020 as of today.

Yours sincerely,

Wilson Pinto

Hi Wilson,

Please be aware that processing times relate to when an application was lodged and not when they are allocated to an Immigration Officer for processing. Some of this time will be the applications awaiting allocation in a queue which may account for the smaller number under 35 days. We are unable to report processing times for applications once they are allocated to an Immigration Officer for processing.

I am unable to confirm whether the applicants were onshore or not as well as a monthly breakup.

The follow up question will be logged as an official information request as I will not be able to give you a complete answer.

Kind regards
Adam
