Distribution of profit from Child Support business
Anatoly Kern made this Official Information request to Inland Revenue Department
The request was partially successful.
From: Anatoly Kern
Dear Inland Revenue Department,
Based on previously released information the Child Support business retains ~$180M of penalties every year as "retained by the Crown to help offset the cost of benefits"
The budget estimation of the CS business is ~$80M, so even if you offset all costs of supporting this business there would be more than $100M direct profit left every year (Which makes it a highly profitable racketeering business)
I am really interested in what specifically is funded by this money taken away from and at the cost of broken families.
Who's benefits are funded by it? Is it considered as a general government income, supporting police, courts, prisons, military and etc?
Yours faithfully,
Anatoly Kern
