ACC/HDC agreement
Gladys Webster made this Official Information request to Accident Compensation Corporation
The request was successful.
From: Gladys Webster
Dear Accident Compensation Corporation,
After various complaints to the HDC regarding the process, assessor quality of service, lack of follow up by Branch Advisory Psychology resulting in damaging treatment changes, the HDC regularly replies with the following comment. "I consider that the Accident Compensation Act 2001 contains appropriate remedies and rights of appeal, and it is unnecessary for this office to take action."
Many claimants appear to have tried using the Accident Compensation Act 2001 to obtain relief for their suffering at the hands of ACC.
Please outline for claimants exactly what the appropriate remedies and rights of appeal are under the Accident Compensation Act 2001, as Fairway does not hear cases of poor service standard from assessors, or Case Managers selecting what information they place on files (cherry picking), or Branch Advisory Psychologists failing to meet their own code of Ethics and in protecting the claimant from harm by ACC.
2. Is there some kind of agreement (written, unspoken or tactical) between ACC and the HDC that protects each agency and means only the cases resulting in severe harm and death are investigated?
Yours faithfully,
Gladys Webster
