On 31 May 2021 Auckland Council transferred part of your request to Auckland Transport about the
Galway Street improvements, a project which is part of the Auckland Council Group Downtown
Infrastructure Development Programme.
To date we have spent in total $5.5m on the Galway Street improvements, an outturn that is fully
funded and approved by Auckland Council. A final target construction price of $3.7m was agreed for
the project under the contractual model that was put in place with the Downtown Infrastructure
Development Programme contractor to deliver the works, inclusive of agreed scope changes. The
final target construction price of $3.7m has been certified by the programme cost consultants and
agreed by the Engineer to Contract. There have been no material Variations post agreed scope
finalisation and are all minor variations (in aggregate less than $5,000) which have been approved by
the Engineer to Contract or Engineer’s Representative.
