We acknowledge receipt of your Official Information Act request dated 2 July 2021.
If we have any other questions or need to seek clarification we will be in touch. Otherwise, we will seek to respond to your request as soon as practicable and no later than 20 working days after the date your request was received (by 30 July 2021). If we are unable to respond to your requests by then, we will notify you of an extension of this timeframe.
We have subsequently received three additional Official Information Act requests from "Lana" - two through the fyi website, and one via email that came directly to the University.
Could you please confirm whether you have submitted these additional requests? If so, we will be able to combine the requests together.
Kind regards,
Kelsey

We refer to your three information requests under the Official Information
Act (the Act) dated 2 July 2021 and 3 July 2021, submitted via the fyi
website. You have requested information regarding Pharmacy graduate entry
applicants and Pharmacy and Physiotherapy applicants via the two or more
years of university study pathway. We have now been able to determine that
the three requests were submitted by yourself, therefore we will be
combining the requests to allow us to process them more efficiently.
The Act requires that we advise you of our decision on your request no
later than 20 working days after the day we received your requests.
Unfortunately, it will not be possible to meet that time limit. We are
therefore writing to notify you, pursuant to section 15A of the Act, of an
extension of the time to make our decision in respect of your requests, by
a further 10 working days – to 13 August 2021. However, we will endeavour
to respond to you sooner if possible.
This extension is necessary both (i) because your requests necessitate a
search through a large quantity of information and meeting the original
time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations and (ii) to
allow for consultations necessary to make a decision on your requests. We
also note that a key member of staff who holds some of the information
that you have requested has been on extended leave from the office due to
illness.
We note that we have also received two additional Official Information Act
requests sent via email to the University of Otago Admissions Team. These
requests ask for information almost identical in nature to your three fyi
requests sent on 2 July and 3 July, and are from a person with the same
name as yours. Could you please confirm whether you have recently
submitted these other requests? It is likely that we may need to propose a
charge for providing some of the information you have asked for. If we can
verify that you are the person that has sent the other requests, then we
will be able to propose a more cost effective charge (as we will not be
having to double up on staff time and resources).
If you are not satisfied with our extension of time, you have the right to
make a complaint to the Ombudsman under section 28(3) of the Act. However,
if you have any concerns, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any
concerns with you first.
