Dear Disgruntled Peasant
OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 21.44 Staff stress and wel being
I refer to your Official Information Act request dated 17 July 2021 for information relating to Staff stress and
wellbeing at the University of Canterbury.
In my letter of 21 July 2021, I advised that University required the timeframe to respond to your request to be
extended until Friday 3 September 2021. Unfortunately, it is no longer possible for that deadline to be met. I
am therefore writing to notify you of a further extension of time to make our decision, to Friday 24 September
2021.
This extension is necessary because your request is for a large quantity of information and meeting the original
time limit would unreasonably interfere with our operations. The work generated by the change to Covid-19
Alert Level 4 has disrupted the ability of relevant staff to work through the large quantity of information
required for this request.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
Claire O'Connell
