Dear Sir/ Madam
OFFICIAL INFORMATION ACT REQUEST 21.44 Staff stress and wellbeing
I refer to your Official Information Act request dated 17 July 2021 for information relating to Staff stress and
wellbeing at the University of Canterbury. I write further to my letter of 24 September 2021.
We are aware that the response for this request is due tomorrow. We wish to provide as much information as
possible. There are a number of staff members that are assisting with this response. The need to de-identify
information to protect staff member’s privacy under s 9(2)(a) necessitates a search through a large quantity of
information and meeting the original time limit would unreasonably interfere with the operations. We
therefore seek a further extension until Friday 19 November 2021.
In previous correspondence it was indicated that time was not critical to you for receiving the information and
presume that this is still the case.
You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of this decision. Information about
how to make a complaint is available at www.ombudsman.parliament.nz or freephone 0800 802 602.
Yours sincerely
Claire O'Connel
Information Compliance Officer
