You may be interested to know that last year, because of COVID-19
disruptions and in consultation with Cambridge Assessment International
Education (CAIE), Aotearoa New Zealand’s universities lowered their
minimum CAIE tariff requirement by 10 points. Universities New Zealand –
Te Pōkai Tara is currently talking to CAIE about possible arrangements
that recognise the impact of COVID-19 disruptions in regard to the use of
Cambridge examinations for admission to an undergraduate degree this year.

I appreciate your response, however take issue with the Minister's answers being made publicly available soon. The last response to a written parliamentary question by Hon Chris Hipkins was on the 2nd of September and the parliamentary questions mentioned above were due to be answered on Thursday, September 23. I hope that you will agree with me when I say that it is unlikely that Hipkins will answer prior to the start of the CIE examination period (October 1) as he has a backlog of unanswered questions from at least 2 weeks ago. Due to the above reasoning, I would be grateful to find answers to my questions.
In response to your statement about CIE tariff points being lowered for University Entrance - that is an excellent start but unfortunately not an equitable outcome for CIE students when it is compared to the governmental support for NCEA students.

Ministers are required to provide an answer to written questions within six working days, regardless of how many questions they have been asked. The answers are provided to the MP who asked the question, which are then later published on the Parliamentary website.
