The Ministry is focussing its resources on supporting New Zealanders
through COVID-19 by administering welfare support during this
unprecedented time.  Resources within our business units, where
information for OIA requests is drawn from, is limited or unavailable. 
Staff have been redeployed to assist the frontline with the processing of
welfare payments. As such, there may be a delay in you receiving a
response from the Ministry.

We refer to your below request made to the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry) under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act).

The Ministry has identified some correspondence in scope of your request and is now preparing it for release. Could you advise whether you require the names of Ministry staff below tier 4 to be released? Should you require these, the Ministry would need to consult with the relevant staff members on the release of their names, which may decelerate the release of this information.

As we need to release the information through the appropriate sign out process, we require a few more days to process your request and can advise that we will send you the information by 4 November 2021 (or earlier, depending on whether you require Ministry staff names below tier 4).
