Dear George Morrison
Official Information Act request relating to communications with Rob Fyfe
Thank you for your Official Information Act 1982 (the Act) request received on 29 October
2021. You requested:
“Please provide me with all communications from rob fyfe to DPMC and/or any
ministers or their offices for the past 12 months.”
On 25 November 2021, the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet (DPMC) contacted
you to advise that your request was very broad in scope and asked if you would consider
refining the scope of your request to be for information from a narrower timeframe or
alternatively, a clarification of the topic of the communications between DPMC and Mr Fyfe.
On 26 November 2021, the time limit for responding to your request was extended under
section 15A of the Act while we waited for your response. Following this extension, I am now
in a position to respond.
As we have not received a response from you regarding the refinement of the scope of your
request, I am refusing your request under section 18(f) of the Act as the information
requested cannot be made available without substantial collation or research.
You have the right to ask the Ombudsman to investigate and review my decision under
section 28(3) of the Act.
We do not intend to publish this response on the Department of the Prime Minister and
Cabinet’s website.
Yours sincerely
