Mayors parking space at Te Hāpua
Cody C made this Official Information request to Christchurch City Council
The request was successful.
From: Cody C
Dear Christchurch City Council,
Why does the Mayor have an exclusive car parking space at Te Hāpua?
How was the decision made to grant an exclusive car parking space to the Mayor, as opposed to say a bicycle space, given the council has declared a climate emergency?
Yours faithfully,
Cody C

Dear Cody,
Thank you for your email.
Staff have advised that the Mayor does not have a designated car park at
Te Hāpua. Lianne attended a community function at the facility on Sunday 6
March 2022 and staff understand that the organisers temporarily coned off
a car space to ensure that their invited guest had a park.
I hope this assists, however please let me know if you have any additional
questions.
Kind regards,
Gypsy Stevenson
