Covid-19 Epidemic notice and orders
Chris Wardle made this Official Information request to Chris Hipkins
The request was partially successful.
From: Chris Wardle
Dear Chris Hipkins,
The provisions contained in the Covid-19 Public health bills that have been ushered in since the pandemic began must now be nearing the application of the "sunset clause" of 30 June 2022.
The use of vaccination passports in a domestic situation has been the root cause of the alienation and damaging split in this small country. If the Government had wished to keep engaging people, keep them on side (a job it had previously done quite well) then the vaccine passports were a fuse that was lit. The response to the question regarding the creation of societal split by the Prime Minister on the televised interview was, to say the least, shocking.
Please advise:
1. Date for abolishment of the vaccine passport system for Covid-19
2. An end-date for the mandates as they currently stand
3. Confirmation that repeal of the Covid-19 Act(s) will be tabled and carried out during 2022
It is acknowledged that prior to the roll out of the vaccine passports, the NZ Government had conducted a very sound covid response.
Yours faithfully,
Christina Wardle
