Information Request – Awarua Fire
I refer to your official information request dated 10 May 2022 asking for the following information
:
1. The ICAD report for this incident.
2. Incident Action Plans (IAPs) for the day and the night shifts for the period 2 April - 7 April 2022. These IAPs would
be prepared in accordance with the Coordinated Incident Management System (CIMS) to plan and manage the
response to the incident as mandated by Government and FENZ operational instructions; and
3. A breakdown of the costs incurred to date for this incident.
ICAD Report
Your request has been assessed in accordance with the Official Information Act 1982 (OIA)
. Please find
enclosed the ICAD report. Some personal information has been withheld to protect the privacy of natural persons under
section 9(2)(a) of the Official information Act 1982. We do not consider thereto be a public interest in releasing
the information which outweighs withholding it.
In ICAD Reports, ‘Notifications’ and ‘Message Log’ fields are reported in real time as fire crews and our
communication centres communicate with each other during the incident. They are not the official final records
of incidents but word for word transcripts of ‘live’ situations as they occur. They may contain spelling errors or
commonly used abbreviations.
Incident Action Plans and Breakdown of Costs
I am notifying you of an extension of the time to make our decision on these aspects of your request, to 30 June
2022, in order to allow for necessary consultations to decide those aspects of your request.
