I refer to your Official Information Act request dated 17 May 2022. You
have requested information regarding University of Otago Scholarships and
University of Otago Prestige Scholarships in Dentistry between 2018 -
2021.

 

Please see our responses to each of your questions below.

 

Number of students who received a University of Otago Scholarship in
Dentistry and University of Otago Prestige Scholarship in Dentistry in
2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021

 

The generic University of Otago Scholarship in Dentistry and generic
University of Otago Prestige Scholarship in Dentistry were awarded by the
University until 2015. Since 2016 the University has awarded 300-level
scholarships to Dentistry students on the basis of programme, under their
relevant specialisation. Please see the below table which shows the number
of scholarships awarded between 2018 – 2021:

The cut-off GPA for each award

 

The GPA cut-off for University of Otago Scholarships is GPA 7.5 at
300-level. The GPA cut-off for University of Otago Prestige Scholarships
is GPA 8.5 at 300-level. The same cut-offs were used for each year between
2018 – 2021.
