We acknowledge receipt of your information request dated 9 June 2022 made under the Official Information Act 1982.
Would it be possible to please clarify which papers you are requesting grade distributions for? In your request you ask for "all 200 level surveying papers", but further along in your request you specify "levels 100-400". Could you please clarify whether you are interested in grade distributions for 200-level Surveying papers only, or grade distributions for all 100 - 400-level Surveying papers over the past 5 years?
We will wait to hear back from you before we continue to process your request.

We refer to your information request dated 8 July 2022 made under the
Official Information Act 1982 (Act). You have requested grade
distributions for the SURV101 and SURV102 papers for the five year period
2017-2021.
Subject to the below comments, please find attached the information you
have requested.
o students who withdrew from the papers are excluded from the data.
o we note that only one student received an Aegrotat grade across the
five year period in SURV102. We have determined that it is necessary
to withhold the specific year this student received an Aegrotat grade
to protect their privacy and wellbeing. This is consistent with
section 9(2)(a) of the Act. We consider that withholding this
information is necessary to protect against the identity of this
student being determined or inferred, and their personal information
(i.e. their grade) could be disclosed. We consider that good reasons
exist for withholding this information and this is not outweighed by
other considerations which would make it desirable, in the public
interest, to make the information available.
We trust you will find this information helpful.
We note your right to seek a review of these decisions via a complaint to
an Ombudsman. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any
concerns with you first.
Ngā mihi
Richard
