Thank you again for your correspondence of 30 March 2023 to the Ministry
of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) requesting, under the
Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), the following information:

 

“I'd like to request statistical data regarding the 2021 resident visa
applicants by nationality and visa application status* to the date of this
request. *Status considered as Success, In progress, Declined or other
categories that INZ recorded.”

We are writing to advise you that the Ministry has decided to extend the
period of time available to respond to your request under section
15A(1)(b) of the Act. The data and information to be scoped and collated
in order to make a decision on the request are such that a proper response
cannot reasonably be made within the original time limit.

You can now expect a response to your request on, or before, Tuesday 16
May 2023. This represents a two-week extension to the original time-frame.

 

You have the right to seek an investigation and review by the Ombudsman of
this decision, in accordance with section 28(3) of the Act. Information
