Thank you for your request made under the Local Government Official Information and Meetings
Act 1987 (the Act), received on 12 May 2023. You requested the fol owing information:
• Can you please provide me with a full incident log of al incidents held by Wellington City
Council in respect of accidents, incidents, near misses and all other safety issues / reports on
the Waterfront area from January 2014 until today’s date.
As per my email on 12 June 2023, Wel ington City Council has
granted your request for information.
Thank you for your patience on this request, I am sorry for the delay in responding, however it is
paramount the information about other individuals is protected.
Please see attached document containing al information in scope of your request.
Please note:
1)There are some incidents/injuries/near misses and fatalities that happen on the
waterfront, where members of the public/other agencies decided not to report to Council.
Only incidents/injuries/near misses and fatalities that required Council engagement is
logged into our risk manager system.
2) Some information has been withheld under section 7(2)(a) of the Local Government
Official Information and Meetings Act 1987 to protect the privacy of individuals.
3) Data was extracted on 16 May 2023 includes incident/injuries/near misses and fatalities
extracted from our Health and Safety system from January 2014 to May 2023.
Right of review
If you are not satisfied with the Council’s response, you may request the Office of the Ombudsman
to investigate the Council’s decision. Further information is available on the Ombudsman website,
www.ombudsman.parliament.nz.
Please note, we may proactively release our response to your request with your personal
information removed.
