Thank you for your request for official information dated 11 July 2023. You requested the following
information from Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC):
• Please identify for your CDEM Group and its members each building that is currently identified
as the building intended/likely to be used as -the ECC -an EOC after a seismic event.
• Please provide the buildings current %nbs at IL4, the date of the last assessment, and the type
of seismic assessment completed.

The Queenstown Lakes District Council (QLDC) has two buildings identified/likely to be used as an EOC
after a seismic event. The requested information regarding these buildings follows:
Queenstown Events Centre (primary)
• Address: Joe O’Connell Drive, Frankton, Queenstown 9300
• Designation: Emergency Operations Centre (EOC)
• Current iL3 rating – 60-70%NBS
• Current iL4 rating- 33%NBS
• Date of last assessment – 25 July 2022
• Type of seismic assessment – Review of historical seismic assessment work carried out in 2014
with the industry updates to the seismic assessment of buildings, which were released in 2017
Wānaka Recreation Centre (alternate)
• Address: 41 Sir Tim Wallis Drive, Wānaka 9382
• Designation: Incident Control Centre (ICC)/ Alternate EOC
• Current iL3 rating – 100% NBS
• Current iL4 rating - unassessed
