RE: Building Earthquake Capacity – Letter of Reliance – Genesis Energy (Bryce Street Development)
To Rachel,
Background
1. The buildings and improvements located at 94 Bryce Street, Hamilton ("
Building") were constructed by Foster
Construction Limited.
2. The base build structure was designed, reviewed and approved by BCD in our capacity as a structural engineer to the
project.
Confirmations and reliance
We confirm that:
3. We, as structural engineer to the project, reviewed and approved the structural design of the Building Base Build and
confirm, it was designed in compliance with the then current Building Code and all necessary consents/approvals from
the relevant lawful authorities.
4. Although BCD have not inspected the building since first constructed, to the best of our knowledge, as at the date of this
letter, there are no material un-remedied inherent design defects in the Building.
5. At the time of building consent, the Building was designed in accordance with
section B1 and relevant acceptable
solutions/verification methods of the building code and as such was designed to a seismic loading of no less than 100%
ULS loading. We confirm that this would equate to a %NBS rating of 100 %NBS (Existing Building to IL2 and New Building
to IL4) as at the date of this letter.
6. We carried out construction monitoring to CM3 level and supplied upon completion a PS4 producer statement –
construction review, stating that we believe on reasonable grounds that the building works have been completed in
accordance with the relevant requirements of the building consent for the specific elements under the design of BCD
Group Ltd.
I, as signatory of this letter, confirm that I am authorised to provide the above confirmations and execute this
letter for and on behalf of our company.
