Dear Health New Zealand,

My partner is a type 1 diabetic and has recently had issues with filling scripts for her test strips and has been told by pharmacy (chemist wharehouse)that there are guidelines that only allow for so many test strips as per pharmac instructions. How is the number of strips given calculated as most diabetics would use 10 strips minimum per day so 300 per month and yet have been told that 50 is the guideline.
