We refer to your information request dated 17 July 2023 made under the Official Information Act 1982 (Act). You have requested the grade distributions of ACCT211, ACCT233, FINC203, and BLAW211.
Please find attached the information you have requested in relation to ACCT233 and FINC203. At the present time, the grade distributions for ACCT211 and BLAW211 for Semester 1 2023 have not been finalised – as there are special examinations that are still being completed. Once special examinations have taken place for these papers and all student results have been finalised, we will be happy to release the grade distributions for to you. We are not comfortable releasing the grade distributions for papers before all special examination results have been confirmed – as this may affect students’ wellbeing and disrupt students’ performance in the special examinations. We also want to ensure that we are providing the full and complete mark and grade distributions for these papers.
In the attached grade and mark distributions, we note that students who withdrew from the papers are excluded from the data.
Please note that for papers ACCT211 and BLAW211, it may be necessary for information to be withheld pursuant to section 9(2)(a) of the Act - on occasions where fewer than five students failed a paper, we will determine that it is necessary to withhold the results for these students to protect their privacy and wellbeing. We consider that withholding this information is necessary to protect against the identity of these students being determined or inferred, and their personal information (i.e. their results) could be disclosed.
We will be in touch once the results have been finalised for papers ACCT211 and BLAW211.
If you are not satisfied with our response to your information request, section 28(3) of the Act provides you with the right to ask an Ombudsman to investigate and review this response. However, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss any concerns with you first.
Ngâ mihi
Jenny
