Official Information Act request relating to Cabinet papers that mention refugee 
claimants from 1995 
 
Thank you for your request made under the Official Information Act 1982 (the Act), received 
on 16 August 2023. You requested: 
 
“I request all cabinet papers that mention Refugee Claimants from 1995 to today.” 
 
I believe Cabinet papers relating to refugee claimants are more closely connected to the 
functions of the Minister of Immigration, Hon Andrew Little. Accordingly, I have decided to 
transfer your request to the Minister of Immigration, Hon Andrew Little under section 14(b)(ii) 
of the Act. 
 
The Minister of Immigration has the usual timeframes under the Act from receipt of this 
transfer to make a decision on your request.
