Please provide:
1. the lowest core GPA attained by First Year students who received an MMI offer for the MBChB programme commencing in 2024, for each category.
2. The number of first year students who were offered an MMI for the MBChB programme commencing in 2024, for each category.
3. The number of first year students who attended the MMI for the MBChB programme commencing in 2024, for each category.
By category, I refer to general, MAPAS, RRAS, disabled, refugee, Low Socio-economic,and any other categories if they exist.
By MMI offer, I refer to all MMI offers including the MAPAS general interviews and Specialty interviews.

Dear Nicola,
I refer to your request of 9 October 2023. The University’s response
follows. Note the following abbreviations: MAPAS – Maori and Pacific
Admission Scheme; RRAS – Regional Rural Admission Scheme; SWD - Students
with disabilities; SWRB – Students from refugee backgrounds; LSEB –
students from low socio-economic background.
“1. the lowest core GPA attained by First Year students who received an
MMI offer for the MBChB programme commencing in 2024, for each category.“
GPA figures provided are those used for determining interview rankings as
stated on the University’s website:
“Interview Ranking
If eligible, you will be ranked for interview invitation. This ranking
will be based on your grades in the four core courses (in bold above):
BIOSCI 107, CHEM 110, MEDSCI 142, and POPLHLTH 111. If your final grades
are not available at the time of interview ranking, an interim grade
(highest possible) will be temporarily assigned. Official final results
will be used for the final selection.”
o 2024 lowest core interview GPA for a student who received an MMI offer
for the 2024 MBChB Part II, by category: General, RRAS, SWD, SWRB,
LSEB: ALL 6.0 GPA
The requested information is not held for MAPAS students. Although your
request has specified that, for MAPAS students, you are seeking the lowest
core GPA for the MAPAS general interviews and Specialty interviews, MAPAS
interview offers are not made based on core interview GPA rankings, and
the University is not required to create these in response to your
request. This part of your request is refused under section 18(g) of the
OIA.
