“the total number of deaths the Commissioner has been notified of disabled
residents under the care of NZ Community Living/NZCL (part of Healthcare NZ
group) as part of it's Regional Intel ectual Disability Supported
Accommodation Service.
We further request a breakdown of these by date received, with outcome if
closed, including any recommendations or follow-up actions.”

Refusal of request
As at 30 October 2023, HDC’s database contains
no complaints about NZ
Community Living that involved deaths. Please note, complaint descriptions loaded
to HDC’s database are based on what is articulated to HDC by the complainant in
their original complaint.
Therefore, we refuse your request pursuant to section 18(e) of the Official Information
Act, as the document alleged to contain the information requested does not exist or,
despite reasonable efforts to locate it, cannot be found.
You may seek a review of this decision from the Office of the Ombudsman.
