On 10 October 2023, the Ministry of Social Development (the Ministry),
received a request for information under the Official Information Act 1982
(the Act), for the following information:
· I am writing to ask what is the number of enrolled
domestic tertiary students vs the number of student allowance recipients
over the past 23 years since 2000, including numbers and relevant
percentages - preferably in a table.
We have transferred your request in part to the Ministry of Education
(MoE) namely the number of enrolled domestic tertiary student over the
past 23 years, as the information to which this part of your request
relates is not held by the Ministry but is believed to be held by MoE.
In these circumstances, we are required by section 14 of the OIA to
transfer your request.
Please note that according to sections 14 and 15(1) of the Official
Information Act, the 20-working day response period is reset by the
transfer and starts again on the day MoE receives the transfer
notification. The Ministry notified MoE of the transfer today.
You will hear further from MoE concerning the specified part of your
request.
