Department of Internal Affairs
Kia ora John,
We refer to your Official Information Act 1982 request for: “the full
meeting minutes of Racing Integrity Board from 1st Jan 2021 to 1st Nov
2023. Also, please supply the conflict of interest register for each
member.”
Investigations have established that Te Tari Taiwhenua does not hold the
information you are requesting as they are held by the Racing Integrity
Board – which is not subject to the Act. Because of this, our intention is
to refuse your request under section 18(e) of the Act.
However, Te Tari Taiwhenua does hold conflict of interest declarations
made as a part of the appointments process. Before refusing your request,
we would like to invite you to consider reframing your request in a manner
that would remove the reason for it being refused under section 18(e) of
the Act. This is consistent with our obligations under sections 13 and 18B
of the Act.
If you do wish to reframe your request, we would appreciate it if you
would let us know by replying to this email on or before 14 November 2023.
