Auckland Council
Kia ora Jimmy
Thank you for your interest in the Christmas pavilion in Te Komititanga.
We apologise for the delay in responding to your query, but it has taken
some time to reconcile the final invoices following the event.
The pavilion is installed in Te Komititanga for approximately six weeks
each festive period, along with a programme of activation and diverse
programming for the month leading up to Christmas Eve. The goal of the
pavilion is to contribute to a vibrant Christmas spirit in the city
centre, in this important time for city centre businesses. It also
provides additional seating, shade and shelter in the square for the many
visitors to the area.
The total cost to install, activate, maintain and deinstall the pavilion
in November/December 2023 was $277,186. This was offset by a contribution
of $100,000 from our event partners, which means the total cost to
council, funded by the city centre targeted rate, was $177,186.
The cost is broken down as follows:
Installation / Deinstallation $101,470
Annual maintenance prior to installation $6,500
Container transport to site $4,040
Repairs over deployment period including sound system $11,296
component rental
Security $32,800
Cleaning, maintenance and waste management $5,000
Entertainment programme $90,080
Event production $26,000
Total $277,186.00
All figures are exclusive of GST.
Ngā mihi
